Orderd 2 cakes got delivered on 12th july Choc pinata an rainbow .
Choc pinata cake was great looked it was supposed to tasted great everyone loved it.
White choc rainbow on the other hand looked right but once I opened the plastic bag around it just about to present to the birthday Girl it smelt awful it was for a birthday on the 14th as advised 2 days before it didn't taste right we thought maybe the packaging smell but it wasn't the cake was inedible the sponge tasted okish but what ever was around an in the cake tasted off an belive this was the smell.
I did ring sponge as was given incorrect delivery information and had to ring back up when delivery driver chucked our cakes on the floor from the van but when opened they looked OK 1 cake was good 1 cake is still sat in the box as was not edible

Used them before and as always excellent service /delivery we buy a vegan cake for birthdays as Grandson is vegan but no body else i n the family is but all say the same thing wonderful cake

My Millionaires gluten free sponge cake arrived on time and in perfect condition. Everyone was impressed on how light and tasty it was. We were more than pleased, thank you. I would definitely recommend and use again.

I ordered a vegan cake for my husband's birthday so that all of us could enjoy a slice. It was SO good, and a couple of people were amazed that it was totally plant based. It arrived on my husband's (70th) birthday and was gone almost immediately. I have sent Sponge card cakes to a number of people, all of whom have raved about it. This was the first one I have tasted. It was great and so moist. Very happy with my purchase and the quality of the cake.

In a panic needing a birthday cake at VERY short notice I was on the verge of surrendering to the fates when I found this amazing company.
My initial enquiry was replied to in the evening and I was able to order the following morning and collect after 3pm that day - fortunately I’m only 8 miles away from the company. The communication from Amy was superb - helpful, professional, courteous and patient.
Although the cake was for a carnivorous 5 year olds birthday, I ordered the Vegan Chocolate Caramel Fudge Cake because one of the party’s a vegan and I thought for once we would go with a vegan cake.
And WOW! It was sooooo delicious! Great packaging, instructions to help with storing leftovers (we had no leftovers) plus a personalised card, a glittery 5 candle and a birthday cake topper - all available on the Sponge website.
I cannot recommend this cake highly enough and will be using them again. This particular cake was light, not overly sweet, chocolatey- the best cake I’ve tasted in a lonnnngggggg time :-)

Easy to order and a great way to celebrate a birthday.

Had great feedback from the recipients of my cake cards/gift boxes. Delivered on time and kept fully informed of delivery progress, recommend and will definitely use again. Check out the sponge club if you are likely to use often.

My sister in law bought a mixed gluten free cake for our family do. The best I’ve/we’ve ever tasted. Carrot cake superb. (The only piece left as I was a bit busy) ?Can’t wait for the next family gathering. Sue Evans

Cakes ordered, then we changed the delivery location early Friday morning, which was delivery day. No warning from DHL that there was no option to get it delivered same day to a location closeby (1.5 miles away), immediately delivery jumped to Monday. I tried everything to get the delivery back to how it was - nothing. One of these 2 cakes was ordered specially for our guests (We own a small Guesthouse in a town where there are at least 900 other Guesthouses!). Now imagine these cakes until Monday in a van... 3 days in the heat/sun. Next, when I collected them from the pick up point on Monday, I had to have an argument with the shop, where they said they had nothing for us to collect. Rude staff and a terrible pick up point. Arriving home I saw the state the cakes were in, top melted and sideways, how on Earth were these cakes kept for 3 days? I threw them out - and here comes MY mistake. The weekly bin collection was going out, and I forgot to take photos, and couldn't prove it. I've been left without a reply to my complaint, which shows Sponge, a not so small business anymore, has quickly forgotten what a bad review can do to a rating, and seems to really not care what happens to a regular customer.

I'm cancelling my subscription and will be finding myself somewhere with cakes with less sugar content, more flavour, and with a customer service who cares about their customers during difficult times.
